Boat Slips & Storage
What size boats can your wet slips accommodate?
Our covered wet slips accommodate boats up to 40 feet Length Overall (LOA). All slips include 30amp shore power and fresh water connections. Learn more about docking options.
How do I rent a boat slip?
Fill out the quote form on our Dock With Us page or call (231) 322-4495. Our team will discuss availability, pricing, and lease terms based on your vessel specifications.
What amenities are included with slip rental?
Wet slip rentals include covered protection, 30amp shore power, fresh water connections, deep water access, ship's store access, restroom facilities, and free parking.
How does dry stack storage work?
Our state-of-the-art dry stack uses the SpeedyDock app. Schedule launches from your phone, track your boat's status in real-time, and we handle all the lifting. Your boat stays protected indoors from weather, UV damage, and bottom growth.
Do you offer jet ski or PWC slips?
Yes! We have dedicated PWC slips for jet skis and personal watercraft with easy access to Torch River. Contact us at (231) 322-4495 for availability and pricing.
Boat Rentals
What boats are available to rent?
Our fleet of 17 boats includes: Avalon/Berkshire Tritoons (24' / 12 passengers), Starcraft Tritoons (25' / 14 passengers), and Regal Ski Boats (20' / 8 passengers). Rates range from $399-$499/day. View our full fleet.
Do I need a boating license to rent?
Michigan does not require a boating license to operate a rental boat. However, the primary renter must be at least 25 years old and complete a brief safety orientation before departure.
What is included with boat rentals?
All rentals include: tow bar, bimini top, rear entry ladder, Bluetooth & aux port, emergency & child life vests, 2 anchors, 4 bumpers, and 4 dock lines. Fuel is not included—boats depart full and you pay for what you use.
What is your weather policy?
For bad weather, you have three options: prorate to a half day, reschedule if available, or cancel for a full refund. Cold, overcast, and scattered rain are boatable conditions. Pouring rain, lightning, and high winds are not.
What are the cancellation fees?
Cancellation fees are tiered by timing: 4+ days before = $25, 3 days = $50, 2 days = $75, 1 day = $100, no-show = forfeit rental deposit. Weather cancellations by the marina are fully refunded.
Are pets and towable toys allowed?
Yes! Pets are $25 each. Towable toys (tubes, skis, wakeboards, lily pads) rent for $35-$75/day plus tax. See all rental details.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking 1-2 weeks ahead, especially for weekends and holidays (May-September). Book online or call (231) 322-4495.
Marine Services
What services does your service center offer?
Our Mercury-certified service center features 3 large bays with overhead hoists. We handle engine repair, maintenance, replacements, tune-ups, fluid changes, outdrive servicing, prop repair, and Mercury warranty work. Contact our service department.
Do you offer boat detailing?

Do you offer winterization services?
Yes! Our professional winterization includes pick-up, canopy removal, engine winterization, oil/filter/water separator changeout, and gear case fluid changeout. Learn more about winter services.
Do you sell used boats?
Yes! We sell used boats on consignment (15% of selling price, $1,000 minimum). Every boat receives a 50-point inspection covering hull, engine, and trailer. View available boats.

Where is Sun Life Torch River Marina located?
We're located at 12906 Cherry Avenue, Rapid City, MI 49676, on the Torch River with direct access to Torch Lake and the famous sandbar.
What are your hours?
In-season (April 15 - October 31): 9AM - 5PM daily. Boat rental hours vary by season—call (231) 322-4495 for current availability. We are closed November 1 - April 14.

Is parking available?
Yes, free parking is available for slip holders and boat rental customers.

Torch Lake
What makes Torch Lake special?
Torch Lake is Michigan's longest inland lake and is famous for its stunning Caribbean-blue turquoise waters. It's consistently ranked among the most beautiful lakes in the world and is a bucket-list destination for boaters.
What is the Torch Lake sandbar?
The sandbar is a famous shallow area where boaters anchor and wade in crystal-clear, waist-deep water. It's the social hub of Torch Lake on summer weekends. Our marina provides direct access via the Torch River.
How do I get to Torch Lake from the marina?
Sun Life Torch River Marina sits on the Torch River, which connects directly to Torch Lake. It's a short, scenic cruise down the river to reach the lake and sandbar.
